WE'RE already heading into autumn with Seventies style in mind thanks to the last batch of shows and Derek Lam, who has a fondness for the era anyway, is championing it again for spring / summer. So step forward patchwork and Suede, seriously high waists and long Lean flares. Rendered in a typical jarring Seventies colour palitrada - teal, purple and burgundy - it was entirely in keeping with his own take on mixing and mismatching shades, but was born to great effect here.
